Mysuru, May 6, 2025: A Mysuru Central Prison warder recorded an abusive video against Chief Minister Siddaramaiah and had circulated it on social media. He has been suspended on Monday.

The video of the warder (police constable rank) H N Madhu Kumar has gone viral on social media. Madhu Kumar has been serving the Prisons department for the past four years. Superintendent of Mysuru Central Prison B S Ramesh has conducted a preliminary inquiry and has suspended him on Monday. "The warder has done the video on April 28 itself. But, it came to our notice on Monday evening. A detailed inquiry will be conducted against him," he said.

Congress members staged a protest near the Mysuru Central Prison on Tuesday, condemning the constable’s statements.

In the video, Madhu Kumar has stated, "While police serve for 35 years, politicians are elected for only five years with people’s alms (votes). Having done LLB, being CM, he should have known how to behave with a government officer serving as ASP, heading a district. The Karnataka Police are not his slaves. If this is the situation of an ASP, what would happen to a constable? With this behaviour, he has lost the respect I had for him".

He even commented on the death of Siddaramaiah’s elder son Rakesh, and MUDA alternative compensatory sites allocation to the CM’s wife, and asked, "Why there is a delay in crediting the salary to the personnel of Mysuru Central Prison and who will pay the EMI for bank loans".

He further commented on the mob attack on Udaygiri Police Station in Mysuru and how the law and order situation has collapsed in the home district of the CM. He has stated, "If the cops in his own district could not be provided security, what can the people of the State expect?"

Madhu Kumar stated that he was ready to lose his job, and had asked the people to forward the video until it reached the CM.
