Mumbai, Nov 6, 2026: Mumbai has been placed on alert following a bomb threat targeting multiple high-profile locations, including Bollywood superstar Amitabh Bachchan’s bungalow Jalsa, the Bombay High Court and the Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE).

A threat e-mail received by the Bombay High Court warned of bomb attacks at these locations, as well as the Worli Racecourse.

Following the threat, Mumbai Police have launched an investigation to identify the sender. Security agencies have also been alerted, and security arrangements have been stepped up at the locations mentioned in the e-mail.

This is the second threat involving Amitabh Bachchan in recent weeks. On October 22, a threat e-mail sent to a school in Mumbai had mentioned the veteran actor. However, authorities clarified at the time that Bachchan had not received any direct threat.

Following that incident, Bachchan’s customary Sunday appearance outside his Mumbai residence took an unusual turn when he stood behind a protective glass shield, accompanied by his son Abhishek Bachchan.

The incident prompted the All Indian Cine Workers Association to seek Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s intervention, expressing concern over the safety of Bollywood celebrities and their families.

The latest threat comes amid growing concerns over the security of film personalities following a firing incident targeting actor Tiger Shroff’s car on October 18, which was claimed by the Lawrence Bishnoi gang.

Earlier this week, actors Tusshar Kapoor and Ayushmann Khurrana also received threats allegedly issued in the name of the Bishnoi gang. Police are investigating the authenticity of the threat recordings.

In connection with these threats, the Mumbai Crime Branch arrested a 30-year-old Bengaluru-based IT engineer on Wednesday for allegedly sending threatening messages to Kapoor and Khurrana.

Preliminary investigations have found no evidence linking the accused to the Lawrence Bishnoi gang.
