"Look at what is happening in France or Albania (now) or Nepal and Bangladesh (earlier)…they say changing the regime will change the situation but this has never happened, it did not happen earlier, it will not happen (here) now,” Dr Bhagwat said addressing the annual Dussehra rally in Nagpur, the geographical centre of India, which houses the RSS headquarters.

His remarks came amid ongoing protests over alleged irregularities in the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of electoral rolls and demands for the ouster of Chief Election Commissioner Gyanesh Kumar. “Some individuals whose nature and disposition align with theirs come forward to assist them in their efforts,” he added.

"There are likely to be numerous shortcomings in the system as well. Problems will remain, and protests are inevitable in a democracy. But what should the purpose of protests be? They should be (ultimately) aimed at finding solutions," he said.

Bhagwat also sought to hit out what he described as “Western storm” and its designs to "weaken India" . "Their goal is how to dismantle Bharat, Hindus and the Sangh. They say this
explicitly. And they also get support (from some elements in India),” the RSS chief said.

“A storm has swept in from the West, driven by a demonic resolve to destroy and devastate all that is decent, auspicious, and rooted in cultural and and human values, both in India and across the world,” he added.

The RSS chief pointed out that the “so-called developed nations” across the world are afflicted by this storm and find themselves helpless before it.

“However, over the past decades, India has gradually carved out a place for itself in the world through its own strength and sound policies. The collective endeavour of India’s society is bearing fruit in every sphere, driven by strong policies leadership, national pride, and an awakening of its awareness of its responsibilities towards the world,” he added.

"Bharat is their decisive and most formidable competitor, as well as their ultimate and most significant target," he said.

The RSS chief said that "our actions must remain within the bounds of our Constitution and the law, and our speech, conduct, and behaviour must always reflect the dignity and decorum of a civilised discourse".

“We must remain mindful of this. We must be vigilant that the lure of votes, cheap popularity, or political gains does not overpower our prudence and goodwill,” he said.

“Whether it is a group within the society leading the agitation, or the government and administration taking action to maintain peace and order, or political leaders playing their part, we must ensure that our actions do not create discord, animosity resentment, bitterness, or divisions within our one, undivided society, even when emotions run high,” said Bhagwat.
