Outrage by locals
Hundreds of BJP workers and members of various Hindu outfits gathered in front of Kirugavalu police station and raised slogans against the accused. They demanded that the police should file a sedition case against Javed and he should receive severe punishment.
Mandya district BJP Yuva morcha vice-president Mohan said, “The government should take strict action against Javed, who is trying to create unrest in the country, when India has declared a war against terrorists, who have killed 26 tourists at Pahalgam in Kashmir”.
In its social media account, the Police department has appealed to the public not to be involved in such acts that disturb unity and peace and harmony in the society. It has also stated that a case has been registered against the person who posted such pictures on social media, at Kirugavalu police station.
