According to the police, the boy allegedly chopped off the head of his 19-year-old sister who had eloped earlier this year. After beheading her, he allegedly displayed her head before their neighbours.

The victim had eloped in June and had been living with her husband. Last week, her mother contacted her and asked to visit her. Her mother returned for a second visit with her son on Sunday.

When the mother-son duo reached the pregnant woman’s house, her husband was ill and lying in another room. The woman was making tea when her brother attacked her from behind. Her mother held her by the leg while her brother allegedly chopped her head off with a sickle.

After beheading his sister, the boy carried the head outside for neighbours to see. He also tried to attack his brother-in-law but he managed to escape. The girl’s husband screamed and asked neighbours for help. The neighbours then informed the police.

A police official said the victim’s brother surrendered before them and was arrested along with his mother. The boy is under 18 years of age, the official said.
