Bengaluru, Oct 16, 2026: Union Minister H.D. Kumaraswamy staged a protest on the premises of the City Police Commissioner’s office on Infantry Road on Thursday, demanding a thorough investigation into two purported sting-operation video clips related to former Chief Minister Siddaramaiah and the arrest of the alleged prime accused.
Kumaraswamy refused to call off his protest until Bengaluru City Police Commissioner Seemant Kumar Singh intervened and assured him that all those suspected of involvement in the case would be questioned.

Warning of further agitation, Kumaraswamy demanded that the police arrest the alleged prime accused within two days, failing which he would consider intensifying the protest.
During his interaction with the Commissioner, Kumaraswamy alleged that the police had failed to take action against the alleged mastermind and urged the Commissioner to discuss the matter with the Home Minister to ensure a more intensive investigation.
He challenged the police to identify any party workers suspected of involvement, assuring them of full cooperation with the investigation.
“Don’t think we will be intimidated by threats. We are not afraid. If you suspect any of our workers, tell us. I am also ready to appear for questioning, if required. We will extend all cooperation to the government. But arrest the person behind the operation. We will not compromise on this,” he said.
Kumaraswamy also questioned why the alleged prime accused and his associates had not been arrested despite allegedly circulating material intended to tarnish Siddaramaiah’s reputation.
He expressed disappointment over what he described as Siddaramaiah’s silence on the issue, despite his party having supported the former Chief Minister.
Kumaraswamy eventually withdrew his protest after Commissioner Seemant Kumar Singh assured him that the investigation would cover all those suspected of involvement in the case.
