The minister made the remarks after visiting the office of the Additional Director General of Police (ADGP), Communication, Logistics and Modernisation, in Bengaluru, where he reviewed key policing and technology systems.

During the visit, Kharge assessed critical systems that support connectivity, responsiveness, and operational readiness within the Karnataka State Police. The review included the wireless communication network, the 1930 Cyber Helpline, the Namma 112 emergency response system, motor transport operations, and ongoing modernisation initiatives.

He also reviewed measures aimed at improving the response to cyber fraud, including faster lien marking, enhanced coordination with banks, specialised training for police personnel, and greater use of digital platforms.

Kharge said he further examined efforts to expand the digital wireless network, upgrade police IT infrastructure, and strengthen forensic capabilities as part of the state’s broader police modernisation programme.
