Bengaluru, Aug 20, 2026: The Karnataka government is set to launch the ‘100 Days, 100 Schools’ campaign to upgrade state-run schools through partnerships with private companies, trusts and charitable organisations.

Under the initiative, 100 government schools will be transformed within 100 days with support from private entities through their Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) programmes, School Education and Literacy Minister Madhu Bangarappa told the Legislative Council on Wednesday.

Replying to a question from Congress MLC Vinay Karthik Prakash, Bangarappa said the government would sign separate Memoranda of Understanding (MoUs) with companies, NGOs, trusts and other organisations willing to take up the development of government schools.

The minister said organisations entering into agreements with the government would be given 100 days to complete the proposed improvements in the selected schools.

The government has also directed deputy commissioners across the state to identify and upgrade select schools as Karnataka Public Schools. They have been asked to hold regular coordination meetings and establish dedicated email IDs and phone numbers to facilitate the process.

Progress on the selected schools will be uploaded on the ‘Nanna Shaale Nanna Koduge’ portal, the minister said.

District authorities have been instructed to ensure that MoUs with private entities provide support to schools for a minimum of three years and a maximum of five years. They have also been directed to prioritise rural schools for CSR-funded development.

As many as 1,672 schools have already been identified for upgradation, Bangarappa said, adding that a monitoring committee headed by the Chief Minister would oversee the campaign.
