Karnataka Lok Bhavan will be open for public visit from Aug 16 to 18

Bengaluru, Aug 12, 2026: The Karnataka Lok Bhavan will be open for public visit from August 16 to 18, officials said on Wednesday.

The general public have been invited to visit the designated areas and requested to strictly adhere to the given guidelines to ensure the safety, security and smooth conduct during their visit, they said.

"On the occasion of the 80th Independence Day, Lok Bhavan, Karnataka will be open for public visit from 5-30 p.m. to 7-30 p.m. on 16th, 17th and 18th August 2026," R Prabhu Shankar, Special Secretary to Governor Thaawarchand Gehlot said, in a statement.

As per the guidelines issued, every visitor must carry a valid government-issued Identity Card, such as Aadhar Card, etc., and produce the same to the security personnel at the entry point for verification.

"All visitors shall compulsorily undergo security screening and frisking before entering the Lok Bhavan premises and follow the instructions given by security personnel," it said.

Visitors will be permitted to access only the designated areas along the prescribed route and are requested to maintain silence, discipline and decorum within the premises.

According to the guidelines, private taxi vehicles will not be permitted inside the Lok Bhavan premises.

In addition to this, certain items have been strictly prohibited inside Lok Bhavan such as bags and backpacks, eatables, pan, gutka, tobacco products, cigarettes and alcohol.

Professional cameras, video cameras, Laptops and all other electronic or electrical devices have also been prohibited, along with sharp objects and metallic items.

Matchboxes, lighters, inflammable materials and arms and ammunition are among the other items that have been prohibited, it added.
