Karnataka: 34 Students Fall Ill After Eating Breakfast at Raichur Residential School

Raichur, Sep 3, 2026: At least 34 students of the Morarji Desai Minority Residential School on Mushtur Road in Manvi, Raichur, fell ill on Wednesday shortly after consuming breakfast.

Within minutes of finishing their meal, several students complained of stomach pain and developed diarrhoea, causing concern among the school staff.

The staff promptly alerted the nearby Government Woman and Child Hospital. Dr Sharanappa, a paediatrician, along with his team, reached the school and examined the affected students.

Of the 34 students who fell ill, 24 were admitted to the Government Woman and Child Hospital, while two others were shifted to the Raichur Institute of Medical Sciences (RIMS) for further treatment.

Block Education Officer Chandrashekar Doddamani, along with other officials, visited the hospital and enquired about the health condition of the students.
