KSRTC to deploy 700 special buses from October 15 to 26 as Mysuru gears up for Dasara

Mysuru, Oct 6, 2026: With a week left for Naada Habba Dasara 2026, Mysuru is preparing to welcome lakhs of visitors during the festival.

The Karnataka State Road Transport Corporation (KSRTC) will operate 700 special buses from October 15 to 26 to manage the anticipated festival rush and facilitate travel to and from Mysuru.

The corporation will also run one-day Dasara package tours covering temples, tourist attractions, picnic spots and other destinations around Mysuru. With schools in Karnataka observing Dasara holidays from October 3 to 21, tourists and vacationers have already begun arriving in the city.

KSRTC Divisional Controller (Rural) H.T. Veeresh said the corporation expects around 15 lakh passengers and tourists during this year’s Dasara.

“Passenger traffic is expected to double during the Dasara vacation. Hence, KSRTC has made all necessary arrangements and will operate 700 buses from Mysuru to various parts of the state to manage the rush and facilitate tourists visiting Mysuru Dasara,” he said.

Based on passenger demand, special services will connect Mysuru with destinations including Coimbatore, Kannur, Thalassery, Kozhikode, Thrissur, Ernakulam, Thiruvananthapuram, Chennai and Madurai, among others.

Dasara package tours

KSRTC will operate three one-day package tours — Devadarshini, Giridarshini and Jaladarshini — from October 15 to 26.

The tours will depart daily at 6.30 am from the Central Bus Stand (Sub-urban Bus Stand) and offer visitors an opportunity to explore religious, historical and natural attractions beyond Mysuru city.

Devadarshini: The package covers Nanjangud, Talakadu, Bluff, Mudukuthore, Somanathapura, Srirangapatna and KRS. The tour covers around 325 km, with fares of Rs 400 for adults and Rs 250 for children.

Giridarshini: Designed for nature lovers, this tour covers Bandipur, Gopalaswamy Hills, Biligiriranganatha Temple, Nanjangud and Chamundi Hill. The 350-km tour costs Rs 450 for adults and Rs 300 for children.

Jaladarshini: The package focuses on waterfalls, dams and nature spots, covering the Golden Temple, Dubare, Nisargadhama, Abbey Falls, Raja Seat and Harangi Dam. The tour covers around 250 km, with fares of Rs 300 for adults and Rs 200 for children.
