Bengaluru, Oct 24, 2026: Karnataka Chief Minister D K Shivakumar on Saturday approved the prosecution of suspended IAS officer Gyanendra Kumar Gangwar, who is facing corruption allegations in the Karnataka Public Service Commission (KPSC) recruitment scam.

An Enforcement Directorate (ED) investigation last month reportedly found that Rs 1.3 crore in cash had been given to Gangwar by Basavaraj Kannale, another key suspect and a close associate.

The ED probe also reportedly found that Gangwar handed over question papers and answers to Kannale on an HP pen drive on January 7, two days before the scheduled examinations.

A separate investigation by the Criminal Investigation Department (CID) found that around 60 to 80 questions had allegedly been leaked to candidates. Around five candidates were also reportedly given practice sessions to prepare for answering the questions.
