New Delhi, Mar 7, 2026: Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian has apologised to neighbouring countries for attacks carried out during Iran’s conflict with Israel and the United States, but warned that Tehran will retaliate if it is attacked again.
“I must apologise on my own behalf and on behalf of Iran to the neighbouring countries that were attacked by Iran. The interim leadership council agreed yesterday that no more attacks will be carried out on neighbouring countries and no missiles will be fired unless an attack on Iran originates from those countries,” Pezeshkian said in an address broadcast on Iranian state television.

However, he stressed that Iran would not surrender under pressure.
“The enemies must take their wish for the surrender of the Iranian people to their graves,” he said.
The US and Israel carried out coordinated airstrikes across Iran on February 28 following stalled nuclear talks and allegations that Tehran had resumed nuclear activities. The strikes, named Operation Epic Fury, targeted several Iranian cities including the capital Tehran and reportedly killed Iran’s Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei along with members of his family.
Iran has since retaliated with missile and drone strikes targeting Israel and US-linked interests across the Gulf region, including in Dubai, Abu Dhabi, Qatar, Kuwait and Bahrain. Videos circulating online showed widespread damage.
Strikes near Dubai International Airport — the world’s busiest airport for international passengers — reportedly injured four people last week. Iranian attacks also struck the luxury Burj Al Arab hotel and the upscale Palm Jumeirah development in Dubai, while drone debris caused a fire at the US consulate in the city earlier this week.
In Bahrain, a missile reportedly hit a state-run oil refinery on Thursday. Meanwhile, Qatar’s Ministry of Defence said 14 ballistic missiles and four drones were fired at the country, with one striking the Al Udeid Air Base.
An Iranian strike was also reported to have hit facilities of Saudi Aramco, though Tehran has denied responsibility.
Saudi Arabia warns Iran
Saudi Arabia has warned Iran against further escalation. Defence Minister Khalid bin Salman said the kingdom had intercepted repeated missile launches targeting an air base hosting US military personnel, as well as drone attacks on a major oil field.
The world’s top oil exporter also reported at least two drone attacks earlier this week targeting the Ras Tanura Refinery in eastern Saudi Arabia.
