The strike reportedly involved six ballistic missiles and 29 drones. Reports, citing the Associated Press, said at least 10 US personnel were injured, including two seriously.

Preliminary information indicates that multiple refuelling aircraft were also damaged in the attack.

Iran’s Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) claimed it used a combination of long- and medium-range missile systems along with attack drones to target facilities linked to US and Israeli interests. It also claimed to have shot down a US MQ-9 drone and struck an F-16 jet.

The US Central Command (CENTCOM) has not issued any official statement on the incident so far.
