India’s new Covid cases up by 14 per cent in a day, tally past 80 Lakh

New Delhi, Oct 29, 2020:    The country’s one-day coronavirus tally rose by almost 14 per cent with a jump of almost 50,000 new COVID-19 infections taking India’s overall Covid numbers past the 80 lakh mark, the Health Ministry data shows.

India reported 49,881 new cases of coronavirus in the last 24 hours as the number of people who have been infected by the virus till now shot to 80,40,203, government data shows.There are now 1.2 lakh overall Covid-related fatalities with 517 patients dying of the disease in the last 24 hours.
