A key agreement on civil nuclear energy will facilitate the commercial supply of Australian uranium to India, supporting New Delhi’s nuclear power projects and clean energy goals.

"Today, we have signed an important agreement in the field of nuclear energy. This will open the way for uranium supplies from Australia to India and give new impetus to our clean energy objectives," Modi said.

The leaders also launched the Australia-India Partnership on cyber, critical technologies and supply chains, while agreeing to work together on establishing a critical minerals corridor.

Highlighting growing defence cooperation, Modi said the two countries had issued an important Joint Declaration to boost collaboration in defence and security, including through the India-Australia Defence Innovation Corridor that will connect defence startups and industries.

He said the India-Australia Maritime Security Collaboration Roadmap would further strengthen joint efforts in the Indo-Pacific, with both nations also cooperating in shipbuilding, ship repair and maintenance.

On regional security, Modi said India and Australia share a common resolve against terrorism and believe that global conflicts can only be resolved through dialogue and diplomacy.

The Prime Minister also invited Australian businesses to invest in India and said both countries would work expeditiously on the proposed Comprehensive Economic Cooperation Agreement and a bilateral investment treaty.

Albanese described India-Australia relations as more important than ever, saying both countries are committed to diversifying and expanding their partnership across multiple sectors.
