HAM Fest 2025 Inaugurated in Goa

Goa, Oct 12, 2025: HAM Fest 2025, the annual convention of Indian amateur radio operators, was inaugurated on Saturday at the Goa Engineering College campus in Farmagudi on Saturday. The event aims to provide radio enthusiasts with a platform to enhance their technical knowledge, practical experience, and fellowship.

Goa’s Minister for Information Technology and Tourism, Rohan Khaunte, inaugurated the fest and said HAM radio continues to play a vital role in fostering awareness about technical hobbies among the younger generation.

Among those present at the inaugural were Nitin V. Raiker, Director, Directorate of Fire and Emergency Services; Prof. Dheerendra Katti, Director, IIT Goa; Shubhanshu Shukla, ISRO astronaut and HAM radio enthusiast; Kripashankar M.S., Principal, Goa Engineering College; and Sandesh Bhat, convener of HAM Fest 2025.

The two-day event has attracted over 600 HAM operators from across India and abroad, including 45 participants from Mangaluru.

As part of the fest, technical sessions will cover topics such as satellite communication, digital media communication, radio station setup and management, antenna systems, and transmitter-receiver design. The event also features exhibitions, demonstrations, and sales of radio components, equipment, and educational materials related to electronics and communication.
