New Delhi, Nov 23, 2025: The French Navy has publicly debunked a Geo TV report that carried fabricated quotes and false claims regarding India’s Operation Sindoor, calling the article a clear case of “misinformation and disinformation.”

The controversy began after Geo TV published a report on November 21 alleging that a senior French naval officer had praised Pakistan’s “air superiority” and claimed that Indian Rafale jets were shot down during the operation. The article even misidentified the officer, referring to Captain Yvan Launay as “Jacques Launay.”
In an official statement on X, the French Navy rejected the claims outright, stating that Captain Launay had never made any such comments nor given consent for publication. It added that the article contained extensive falsehoods, including the fabricated statements linked to an Indo-Pacific conference.
Geo TV had claimed that the officer credited Pakistan’s performance during a May 6–7 aerial confrontation involving more than 140 jets, and alleged Chinese support for Pakistan—claims the French Navy flatly denied.
France’s intervention has exposed the report as a manufactured narrative, marking a major embarrassment for Pakistan’s media machinery.
