FDA Seizes Medicines Worth ₹4.02 Lakh from Unlicensed Facilities in Bengaluru

Bengaluru, Sep 7, 2026: The Karnataka Food Safety and Drug Administration (FDA) seized medicines worth ₹4.02 lakh from two unlicensed e-commerce storage facilities in Bengaluru, officials said.

The seizures were made during raids at facilities operated by M/s Amazon Seller Services Pvt Ltd at Thattanahalli in Anekal taluk and Aerospace in Devanahalli.

A team led by Manohar, assistant drugs controller with the state intelligence branch, seized medicines worth ₹2.45 lakh from the Thattanahalli facility after finding them stored without a valid drug licence.

At the Aerospace facility, a team led by Drugs Inspector Vibha seized medicines worth ₹1.57 lakh, also citing the absence of a valid licence.

The FDA said the operations were conducted based on intelligence about major compliance violations and described them as a coordinated crackdown on the illegal storage and distribution of medicines.

In a separate inspection at Bengaluru’s Hockey Club on Saturday, food safety officials found 40 bottles of expired soft drinks, along with improperly labelled soda bottles. The inspection also detected violations related to food labelling, hygiene and pest control, including pest infestation.

The Hockey Club falls under the Greater Bengaluru Authority limits, officials said.
