Explosive Material Found Near PM Modi Event Venue in Bengaluru

Bengaluru, May 10, 2026: A major security scare was averted in Karnataka on Sunday after police recovered explosive material nearly 3 km away from the venue where Prime Minister Narendra Modi was scheduled to arrive.

Deputy Inspector General of Police (Central Range Bengaluru) said that two gelatin sticks were found during a security check conducted ahead of the Prime Minister’s visit.

According to the police, the explosive material was recovered from the side of a footpath located about 3 km from the main event venue.

“This morning, before Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s arrival, during the checking, two gelatine sticks were found on the side of the footpath, nearly 3 km away from the main venue where PM Modi was scheduled to arrive. Further investigation is underway,” the DIG said.

Police have launched an investigation to ascertain how the explosive material was left in the area and whether it posed any threat to the Prime Minister’s visit.
