Driver was talented: Lawyer of ex-don’s son accused in Bengaluru Lamborghini stunt video

Bengaluru, Mar 24, 2026: The lawyer of Ricky Rai – the son of a former don Muthappa Rai who is at the centre of the Lamborghini donut stunt video in Bengaluru – has described the driver of the luxury vehicle as “talented", while rejecting claims that Rai was behind the wheel.

The video, showing a Lamborghini performing donuts and drifts on MG Road in Bengaluru, went viral on social media, leading Cubbon Park Traffic Police to register a case. The vehicle was subsequently seized by the police.

According to the police, the son of the late underworld figure, Ricky Rai, was driving the car. However, his lawyer, Narayanaswamy, has denied the charges against him.

“Firstly, there was no nuisance; that day, there were no people on the road. The car was given for service, and the driver collected it. Many claimed Ricky Rai was driving, but that is wrong; he wasn’t driving; the driver was," the lawyer said.

The lawyer further urged everyone not to say that Ricky was driving the car. “I won’t deny he was in the car, but this was not done intentionally," he said.

Ricky Rai’s lawyer claimed that the car skidded and that the driver was talented enough to bring the car under control. “When he applied the brakes, the car skidded because the road was newly paved. There’s nothing big in this. The driver immediately regained control of the car. It happened accidentally," he said.

After an issue was served to Ricky Rai, he appeared before the Cubbon Park Traffic Police and submitted vehicle documents.

Meanwhile, the authorities are examining CCTV footage amid the ongoing investigation.

Who Is Ricky Rai?

Ricky Rai is the son of Muthappa Rai, a controversial figure who was once associated with the underworld in Karnataka and other parts of the country. The underworld on later reinvented himself as a businessman and social figure.

Ricky had survived a shooting incident in Bidadi in 2023.
