Dharwad: Youth Congress leader brutally murdered after assailants barge into house

Dharwad, Apr 11, 2026: In a shocking incident, miscreants allegedly broke into the house of Youth Congress General Secretary Fairoz Pathan in Hashminagar, Malapura, Dharwad, late at night and murdered him.

Fairoz Pathan, who was earlier associated with NSUI, had later joined the Youth Congress and was serving as its General Secretary. He was actively involved in politics.

The attackers reportedly stabbed him multiple times with a knife. Though he was rushed to the Dharwad District Hospital for treatment, doctors confirmed that he had died at home due to the injuries.

Police suspect that the murder may have been carried out due to old enmity, and the assailants are believed to be locals. The incident has left residents in shock.

Suburban police visited the spot and conducted an inspection. The bereaved family members were inconsolable following his death.
