New Delhi, Jun 6, 2026: The Cockroach Janta Party (CJP), a youth-led organisation that has built a significant following on social media, is holding a protest at Delhi’s Jantar Mantar over the NEET-UG 2026 paper leak case and alleged irregularities in the CBSE’s on-screen marking (OSM) system used for the evaluation and re-evaluation of Class 12 board examination papers.
Thousands of supporters carrying posters and banners gathered at Jantar Mantar on Saturday to participate in the demonstration. The protest is being led by CJP founder Abhijeet Dipke and is being held after the organisation obtained permission from Delhi Police.

Ahead of the protest, Dipke urged his supporters to carry out the protest peacefully. He also appealed to them to welcome police personnel with flowers.
Security Heightened Around Jantar Mantar
Security arrangements have been intensified in and around Jantar Mantar in view of the CJP protest, with nearly 40 companies of paramilitary forces deployed in the area. Senior officials, including Joint CPs, DCPs, Additional DCPs, and ACPs, are also stationed to oversee the situation.
Authorities are keeping a close watch on private cab services like Ola and Uber to detect any unusual spike in bookings toward Jantar Mantar. In addition, social media platforms are under surveillance to ensure that law and order is maintained.
Sonam Wangchuk Extends Support
Education reformer and activist Sonam Wangchuk had earlier announced that he would join the protest if no action was taken by June 5. “If not us, who? If not now, when? I will be joining the CJP members in Delhi on 6th June if nothing changes by 5th June. Any self respecting Minister should resign if things go so wrong… Not to mention the effect on millions of young lives and in fact the future of India," Wangchuk wrote on X.
In a separate video, he said his concerns were not limited to the recent examination controversies.
“Your reasons are the NEET and CBSE exams, but for me, it is a bigger issue. For the past four decades, I have tried to improve education in government schools in remote areas. When I don’t see anything changing, I feel disappointed and I feel the need to do something," he said.
How The Group Gained Attention
The Cockroach Janta Party was started by a group of Gen Z activists after Chief Justice of India Surya Kant, during a court hearing last month, referred to certain individuals as “cockroaches" and “parasites". What began as a satirical response online gradually evolved into a youth-led campaign that has since built a large following on social media.
The organisation promotes itself as “a political front for the youth, by the youth, for the youth". Its popularity has grown rapidly online, with its Instagram account crossing 22 million followers.
New Spokespersons Announced
Ahead of the protest, the organisation announced three spokespersons to represent its views.
According to a post on X, investigative journalist Saurav Das has been appointed chief spokesperson. Political researcher and filmmaker Vijeta Dahiya and former management consultant Ashutosh Ranka will also represent the organisation before the public and the media.
Who Is Abhijeet Dipke?
CJP founder Abhijeet Dipke, 30, is from Maharashtra and studied journalism in Pune before moving to the United States for higher studies.
He recently completed a master’s degree in Public Relations from Boston University. Between 2020 and 2023, he worked with the Aam Aadmi Party, where he was involved in social media and election campaign work.
Dipke recently returned to India to lead what the organisation describes as its biggest public mobilisation so far.
