New Delhi, Oct 3, 2026: The Cockroach Janta Party (CJP) on Friday announced plans to hold a protest at Delhi’s Jantar Mantar on October 10 if Chief Election Commissioner Gyanesh Kumar does not resign by then, describing the proposed demonstration as a “fight to save our democracy.”

The announcement was made by CJP founder Abhijeet Dipke on X following a protest at Mumbai’s Shivaji Park, which was attended by several prominent personalities.

“If Gyanesh Kumar doesn’t resign, cockroaches from across India will march to Delhi and protest at Jantar Mantar on October 10. If Delhi Police tries to stop us, wherever they stop us will become our Jantar Mantar,” Dipke said.

He said the protest would be peaceful and that participants would follow the path of non-violent protest advocated by Mahatma Gandhi.

Dipke also said it would be up to the government and Delhi Police to decide whether to respect the protesters’ right to peaceful assembly or repeat what he described as the “brutality” witnessed on July 20.

“This is a fight to save our democracy. Every citizen who wants free and fair elections must join,” he said.
