Bomb threat note found on Saudi-Delhi Air India flight; emergency landing in Ahmedabad

Ahmedabad, Sep 1, 2026: An Air India flight from Dammam, Saudi Arabia, to New Delhi made an emergency landing at Ahmedabad airport on Monday after a crew member discovered a tissue paper carrying a bomb threat, police said.

The flight, carrying 32 passengers, was diverted to Ahmedabad after a crew member found a tissue paper with the word “bomb” written on it, Assistant Commissioner of Police (ACP), ‘G’ Division, VN Yadav said.

The aircraft landed safely at Ahmedabad International Airport at around 4.30 pm, following which security agencies conducted a thorough search of the plane.

“Nothing suspicious was found during the security check,” the ACP said.

All 32 passengers on board are safe and have been accommodated at Terminal 2 of the Ahmedabad airport, Yadav said.

An investigation has been launched to determine the source of the threat message and the circumstances surrounding the incident.
