Bengaluru police seize hydro ganja worth Rs 1.28 crore; five arrested

Bengaluru, May 13, 2026: Bengaluru police have arrested five persons, including three from other states, for allegedly selling hydro ganja and seized contraband worth Rs 1.28 crore.

The arrests were made as part of the city police’s ongoing drive against drug peddling and substance abuse in Bengaluru over the past few months.

Based on specific information, the Ashok Nagar and Malleswaram police conducted raids on different dates and apprehended the accused.

During interrogation, the five accused reportedly confessed that they had been procuring the banned narcotic substance at cheaper rates from unidentified interstate and local suppliers and selling it to the general public and college students for quick profits.

Police seized 3 kg 686 grams of hydro ganja from their possession. Officials estimated the value of the seized contraband at Rs 1.28 crore, while its market value is said to be around Rs 2.56 crore.

Police said efforts are underway to trace the unidentified interstate and local suppliers who provided the hydro ganja to the accused. Investigation is continuing.

The accused were produced before a court and remanded to judicial custody. Further investigation is in progress, officials added.
