Bengaluru: 18 candidates appearing for Army Group ā€˜C’ recruitment exam arrested for copying

Bengaluru, Feb 11, 2026: The Halasuru police on Monday arrested 18 candidates from Haryana for allegedly resorting to malpractices during the Army Group ‘C’ recruitment examination.

The examination, conducted on February 8 within the jurisdiction of the Halasuru police station, was held for direct recruitment to Civil Defence Employee Group ‘C’ posts, including Lower Division Clerk positions.

According to police, the accused candidates allegedly used Bluetooth devices linked to other electronic gadgets and mobile phones to copy during the examination. During routine checks at the examination centre, officials detected 18 candidates aged between 22 and 25 engaging in malpractice.

A total of 12 communication devices and three mobile phones were recovered from the bags of two candidates, identified as Aman and Rajat.

Based on a complaint lodged by Army officials, a case has been registered, and all the accused have been taken into police custody for further investigation, police added.
