Dharwad, Oct 18, 2025: “The Constitution grants the right to form associations. Hence, banning the RSS would be unconstitutional,” said former Supreme Court judge Justice Santosh Hegde.

Responding to reporters’ questions in Dharwad about the Congress government’s reported move to ban the RSS, he said, “If the BJP comes to power, they will ban the Congress. This is just their political game.”

Speaking at a convention of job aspirants agitation committee, Justice Hegde said, “There are many vacancies in departments, but the government is not filling them up. The funds set aside for the recruitment/appointments are being utilised for other purposes. The government should place in public domain the details about the number of vacancies, number of new posts created or posts abolished, every year.”

The government claims that there’ no money to fill vacancies. If that’s the case then what did the government do with the funds earmarked for recruitments, he added.
