Badaun gangrape: 1 cop nabbed in Bareilly

Bareilly, January 6, 2015: One of the two constables accused of raping minor in Uttar Pradesh’s Badaun arrested from Bareilly railway station.

According to reports, the constable was nabbed in a joint operation by the Special Task Force and Bareilly and Badaun police late on Monday night near the Bareilly junction.

Constable Avanish Yadav was arrested when he was about to board a train for Delhi.

The girl was allegedly abducted from her house on December 31 by constables Veer Pal Singh Yadav and Avnish Yadav.

She was taken to Musajhag Police Station and allegedly raped there, Superintendent of Police (City) Lallan Singh said.

An FIR was registered after the victim’s mother lodged a complaint against the two policemen, who are absconding.

The two cops have been suspended and police were trying to trace their trace them.

Veer Pal is yet to be traced.
