BSF foils infiltration attempt in Banaskantha, Gujarat, Pakistani intruder shot dead

Ahmedabad, May 24, 2025: The Border Security Force (BSF) on Saturday said that a "Pakistani intruder" was killed while he was found attempting to cross the border into Indian territory in Banaskantha district, which shares an international border with Pakistan.

"BSF troops successfully neutralised a Pakistani intruder attempting to enter Indian territory in Banaskantha district, Gujarat, on May 23, 2025 during night," BSF said in a statement issued on Saturday.

It said that vigilant BSF troops "spotted one suspicious person advancing towards border fence after crossing International Border. They challenged the intruder, but he continued to advance, prompting them to open fire. The intruder was neutralized on the spot."

Banaskantha district shares an international border with Pakistan. The border villagers were on high alert during the India-Pakistan conflict after India launched "Operation Sindoor" in the aftermath of killing of 26 people mostly tourists last month in Pahalgam, Jammu and Kashmir
