Almatti dam gets ’biggest’ signboard

Bengaluru, Feb 13, 2015, DHNS: The metal board is 112 metres long The metal board is 112 metres long The popular irrigation project and tourist centre, Almatti dam, is now ready to break records for flaunting the world’s biggest metal signboard.

Almatti dam.The installation work is in progress to get the metal letters up on the concrete patch on the left side of the dam structure. Preparations are also in progress to make it to the Guinness Book of Records and the Limca Book of Records.

The Almatti dam has been named ’Lal Bahadur Shastri Sagara’ and the metal signboard says the same. Every letter in the name is about 5 meters to 7.5 meters tall and 5 meters to 10 meters wide and are three dimensional.

The complete signboard is 112 meters long. The metal letters that are clearly visible from almost four kilometres away were made in Pune by the Bucket Designs Company at the cost of Rs 50 lakh. About 25 workers with the help of a crane are busy with the installation. About 18 LED lights of 60
