A man from Kalaburagi detained on ’terror link’ suspicion

Kalaburagi, Oct 19, 2026: The Brahmapura police have detained a man hailing from West Bengal on the charge of having links with terror outfit Lashkar-e-Taiba on social media.

The arrested has been identified as Mumtaz-Ul-Mallick. The operation was conducted by central agencies and local police jointly. Commissioner of Police Sharanappa S D said that two brothers were detained on the suspicion of having links with terror outfits.

“One of them has been released since he had no role. We suspect that the other is in contact with terror outfits on social media. We have summoned him for questioning. He is neither arrested nor any case has been registered,” the Commissioner said.
