5 from Bengaluru missing amid Nepal floods, efforts on to trace them: Dy CM Parameshwara

Bengaluru, Aug 27, 2026: Five people from Bengaluru who travelled to Nepal are missing following flash floods in the country, Karnataka Deputy Chief Minister G Parameshwara said on Thursday.

“Five people from Bengaluru who had gone to Nepal are missing. We are trying to contact them,” Parameshwara told reporters.

He said the state government was making efforts to trace them and, if necessary, would send a senior government official and a minister to Kathmandu to oversee relief and rescue operations for Karnataka residents.

Earlier on Thursday, the state government sought information about people from Karnataka stranded in Nepal and the Tibet Autonomous Region (TAR).

The government said it was collecting details of stranded persons to coordinate rescue, evacuation and other necessary assistance.

Stranded persons, their relatives and tour operators have been urged to share details through the Google Form provided by the state government.
