Bengaluru, Oct 28, 2025: A delivery agent was arrested for allegedly molesting a Brazilian model at her apartment in Bengaluru. The accused was identified as 21-year-old Kumar Rao Pawar, a diploma student at a private college, working part-time as a delivery executive.
According to the details, the incident happened on October 17, when the model had placed an order for groceries through a delivery app.
The model, who works with a private agency in the city, was initially scared to file a complaint and later spoke with her other model flatmates, who alerted the company’s management.
In a complaint, the model’s colleague, Karthik Vinayak, alleged that the woman had ordered groceries. When Kumar arrived to deliver it, he allegedly misbehaved with her and touched her inappropriately.
Shocked by what had happened, the woman pushed him out and locked the door.
On being informed about the incident, the police registered a case against Kumar under Sections 75(1) (sexual harassment) and 76 (assault or use of criminal force with intent to disrobe or compel nudity) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita.
“Based on the complaint, we registered a case under appropriate sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita and arrested the accused," a senior police officer was quoted as saying by news agency PTI.
Meanwhile, the delivery portal sacked the accused as they came to know of the incident.
In a separate incident, two police officials in Bengaluru were suspended following a complaint by a city-based beautician who accused them of “cheating, criminal intimidation, and sexual harassment".
Police Inspector Sunil HB and Assistant Sub-Inspector Prakash, both attached to the DJ Halli police station in Bengaluru, were placed under suspension.
According to the police, in her complaint, the woman alleged that about a year ago, Sunil took her contact number under the pretext of helping her in a financial dispute case and began messaging her.
After befriending her, he allegedly invited her to his flat in Peenya.
She further alleged that Sunil later booked a hotel room, where he “established physical relations with her on the pretext of marriage."
However, a few months later, he began avoiding her, following which she realised she had been cheated, the complaint stated.
