’Bomb sounds every 15 minutes,’ Indian students stranded in Dubai seek help

Mangalore Today News Network

New Delhi, Mar 3, 2026: Thousands of Indians, including tourists, students, and high-profile figures, are currently stranded in Dubai and other countries in West Asia. The airspace in the region has been closed after the US and Israel assassinated Iran Supreme leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei.

This triggered regional instability, prompting widespread flight disruptions and airport closures.

Iran-Israel war

Several Indian students trapped in these regions are speaking about their situation, pleading with the Indian government to assist with their evacuation.

The MEA has released emergency helpline numbers for Indians in affected countries, assisting with medical crises, security concerns, and evacuation inquiries.

Meanwhile, Indian civilians have flooded social media with requests for Prime Minister Narendra Modi and the Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) to evacuate them.

Speaking with ANI, Ayesha, an Indian student stranded in Iran, said, "We are all cut off from the Internet. We are hearing bomb sounds every 15 minutes. It is very disturbing here. When our embassy gave us the advisory to leave Iran, our university didn’t cooperate. We are very thankful to the embassy; we are in contact with them... They are also helpless right now because the airspace is banned here from every country. We are not able to evacuate."

Another student currently in Tehran has issued a plea to the Indian government for immediate evacuation as missile strikes intensify. Speaking amid the sounds of active conflict, she highlighted the extreme uncertainty and deteriorating safety conditions on the ground.

“We are very grateful that the Government of India and the Ministry of External Affairs are in discussions regarding our safety, but in times like these, speed matters a lot. I am not even able to speak properly because air strikes are happening and the situation is getting worse for us. We request a quicker and clear evacuation as soon as possible. Please do not wait for the situation to get worse. Just help us. Please get us out of here as soon as possible,” she told PTI.

An Indian national reached out to the Ministry of Civil Aviation, Prime Minister Narendra Modi, and Union Minister Hardeep Singh Puri via X to propose an alternative evacuation route. "Can buses be organised for Indian nationals stuck in Dubai to take them to Oman? We can book our flights from Muscat airport ourselves !! Please," the user wrote.

Another user on X who is stranded in Dubai requested guidance regarding a dedicated help desk or a formal evacuation plan. He said, "Currently stranded in Dubai as DXB is closed due to the ongoing conflict. Seeking urgent support/guidance for Indian nationals stuck here. Is there a dedicated help desk or evacuation plan? Please assist. #DubaiUnderAttack."

In a direct appeal to External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar, a concerned individual urged the Indian government to prioritise the evacuation of Indian tourists currently stranded in Dubai. “@DrSJaishankar Sir please evacuate Indian tourists stuck in Dubai. There are infants and toddlers as well. The families are running out of resources and psychologically affected.  Please help your citizens. Please evacuate them,” the user said.

“I am stuck in Dubai. Please help evacuate all Indian tourists in Dubai as early as possible. We are worried about the evolving situation,” an individual posted.

A user on X urged quick assistance from the government, writing, "We are 3 female Indian citizens from Karnataka currently stuck in Dubai. We request urgent assistance and evacuation support from the concerned authorities."

Videos Go Viral

Multiple viral videos documenting the intensified regional conflict involving Iran, Israel, the US, and several Gulf nations have surfaced on social media.

A British citizen had a narrow escape in Dubai after an Iranian drone crashed through his living room window when he was drinking his morning tea.

Another video is currently viral online, featuring a Filipina woman’s livestream that abruptly ended during an Iranian missile strike. The 25-second clip captures the woman live streaming from an apartment when a sudden explosion occurs, causing the feed to cut to darkness.
