’Delhi will become Khalistan’: Bomb threat emails sent to 9 schools

New Delhi, Feb 9, 2026: At least nine schools in Delhi received bomb threat emails on Monday. According to the Delhi Fire Service (DFS), multiple educational institutions reported receiving the threats, prompting fire tenders and bomb disposal teams to be dispatched to the locations.

The emails contained alarming messages, including statements such as, "Delhi will become Khalistan. Punjab is Khalistan. In memory of Afzal Guru." The schools were evacuated as a precautionary measure. One email also warned of a potential blast in Parliament on February 13 at 1:11 pm.

"A total of nine schools have reported receiving bomb threats so far. Fire service teams immediately reached the premises, and thorough checks are underway," a DFS official said, adding that additional schools may have received similar threats.

Schools that reportedly received threats include Loreto Convent School (Delhi Cantonment), Cambridge School (Srinivaspuri and New Friends Colony), The Indian School (Sadiq Nagar), DTEA School (INA), Venkateshwar Global School (Rohini), CM SHRI School (Rohini), and Bal Bharati School (Rohini), according to DFS officials.

Bomb detection and disposal squads, along with sniffer dog units, are at the sites. Officials said no suspicious objects have been found so far, and searches are ongoing. Further details are awaited.
