When Lord Ganesha was to appear for B Com exam in place of Krishan

Patna, Oct 07 2017, DH News: In a major faux pas, the admit card of a first year student of B Com (Hons), Krishan Kumar Roy, had the photograph and signature of Lord Ganesha. The goof-up was noticed at Lalit Narayan Mithila University (LNMU) in Darbhanga, nearly 150 kilometres from the state capital.

 

Krishan, a commerce student of JN College at Nehra, with Roll Number 172061400556 (and Registration Number: 1620600501), was supposed to appear in the examination on October 4 when he found that his admit card had the photograph and signature of Lord Ganesha.

Krishan had to submit some relevant papers to the college and university officials before the fault was rectified. He was eventually allowed to appear in the examination which commenced on Wednesday.

The university was, however, quick to distance itself from the controversy. “The mistake was not at our end but that of the cyber cafe from where the student submitted the examination form online,” said Registrar of LNMU, Mustafa Kamal Ansari.

The Registrar clarified that the admit card was not valid till it was checked and counter-signed by the principal. “We have asked all the college principals to verify and counter-sign the admit card downloaded from the university website before an examinee is allowed to write his/her papers,” said the Registrar.

Krishan, however, had to make several rounds to get the mistake rectified. “The university seems to be running at the mercy of God. The faulty admit card bears testimony to this,” lamented the B Com student.
