Thailand to Witness 17 Underwater Wedding Ceremonies in Trang Province

Feb 14, 2019 - In a surprising round of the event, Bharatiya Janata Party’s MLA from Arni in Maharashtra’s Yavatmal district – Raju Narayan Todsam – was beaten up by his mother and first wife on Tuesday as he showed up with his ‘second wife’ at his 42nd birthday celebrations in public. The incident took place in Todsam’s constituency where the MLA arrived his second wife – Priya Shinde – and things went awry with the arrival of his mother and first wife.

 

 

The water weddings which are a part of the provinces’ Valentine’s Day 2019 celebrations aims at promoting Thai tourism and Thai traditional weddings around the world. Recently, nine brides and nine grooms dived 26 feet under the sea for the wedding ceremony in Trang, southern Thailand. The couples in traditional white dresses and suits floated to the ceremonial table at Hin Kon Diew, near the Morakot cave to get married.

Video of the wedding ceremony shows the couple blowing kissing as they float effortlessly to the venue. Senior officials of the province including the governor and national park chief also dived to the spot for registrations purposes. They arrived wearing full gear at the marine beauty spot to conduct the wedding ceremony for the couples. On Valentine’s Day, various ceremonies will be held to bless the newly-weds. Underwater weddings are increasingly becoming popular in recent times. Pre-wedding photoshoots have almost become a norm in many places.
