Stomach-churning video shows doctors pulling knife out of man’s eye socket

Nov 25, 2015: This is the stomach churning moment doctors pull a knife out of a man’s eye - while he’s still awake.

In the clip, the patient sits on a portable hospital bed while concerned doctors and nurses surround him.

What appears to be a kitchen knife can clearly be seen sticking out of his eye socket.

One of the doctors slowly tries to prise the blade out of the victim’s eye before wrapping it up in a bandage.

Despite his horrific injuries, the patient doesn’t seem to be in pain.

It is thought the man, although awake during the procedure, is heavily sedated in the video.

It is not clear where the clip was filmed or how the knife got stuck in the man’s eye in the first place, and the full extent of his injuries are not known.

The gruesome footage was uploaded to viral video site LiveLeak yesterday and has already had more than 21,000 views .

One squeamish viewer wrote: "That hurts just to watch. I’m pretty sure I saw something on the blade that wasn’t blood, it must have been brain matter or eye matter."
