Rider loses bike to Corona Virus: TVS Motors gifts him an Apache RR310

Kasargod, March 26, 2020: The Corona virus pandemic has spread across the world and is disrupting almost everything. The tourism sector is one of the worst-hit sectors as many countries have locked-down and have sealed their borders to control the spread of the virus. Well, an Indian, who was on a world tour on a TVS Apache RTR got caught in the lock-down and had to part way with his TVS Apache RTR 200. On returning to India, TVS gifted him a brand-new bike – the Apache RR3310!

Shakir Subhan, who started his world tour on the TVS 200 4V motorcycle last year was a long way from home when the Coronavirus pandemic started spreading. The rider had reached Azerbaijan after starting his journey in October 2019. Shakir crossed countries like Iran and was on his way to Georgia when the Coronavirus outbreak occurred and he was stopped at the Georgian border and was not allowed to enter the country. Since Shakir rode through countries like Iran, he was asked to return to Azerbaijan.

Without a choice, he parked his TVS Apache 200 4V in Azerbaijan and took a flight back to India via Dubai. His own bike was left in the country while he spent a few days in quarantine in India after returning.

TVS Motors got to know about this incident and gifted him a brand-new TVS Apache RR310! He has already received the new bike and has also put a video on his official channel showing his gratitude and happiness on getting the new bike from TVS. Shakir is expected to return to Azerbaijan and re-start his world tour when the Coronavirus scare scales down and the countries open their borders around the world.

The TVS Apache RR310 is a completely different bike when compared to the RTR 200 4v. The RR310 is a fully faired bike developed with BMW and is the flagship bike from the Indian manufacturer. The RR310 offers a fully-faired body and there are quite a few unique features too.

The bike gifted to Shakir is the latest BS6 complaint Apache RR310. It is priced at Rs 2.4 lakhs, ex-showroom and recently it received a lot of new features. The new Apache RR310 received a new matter grey colour which is the colour gifted to Shakir. Also, it gets a new TFT coloured display that now shows much more information than before. TVS has also added riding modes to the bike including Urban, Sport, Rain and Track.

The BS6 compliant TVS Apache RR310 remains powered by the same 313cc, single-cylinder, liquid-cooled engine. It produces a maximum power of 34 Bhp and peak torque of 27 Nm. The naked version of the TVS Apache RR310 is the BMW G310R, which is the entry-level bike from the German manufacturer. Both the bikes are manufactured by TVS in India.
