Raksha Band, Iron Man Hand to help women evade molesters

Bhopal, July 21, 2014:  An engineering student from Bhopal innovated safety and defense devices called ’Raksha Band’ and ’Iron Man hand’ that can help women in times of emergency and curb the rising sexual assault cases reported in the state.

Sushant Patnaik, who has been felicitated six times by the President Award and honoured by NASA for his various innovations, has now created what he calls the ’Iron Man hand’ which reads the heart beat of a person and sensing a rush, throws out light using ’Hit beam’ in the device. It makes the attacker go blind for a few seconds giving the victim enough time to escape or raise an alarm. The device also has a siren fitted in it. It costs upto Rs 4 to 5,000.

 

According to a report in Bhaskar, he has also designed a ’Raksha band’ gives electric shock to the attacker. The device also enables the victim to click a photo of the attacker and send a call to the PCR. A little cheaper than ’Iron Man hand’, ’Raksha band’ has been priced at Rs 2,000.

Both the devices run on solar charging system. Sushant showcased his recent innovations at International Conference in Barcelona on February 10 this year.

Gujarat-based Motwani Jadeja foundation has already purchased his Raksha band. In two months, it will be in the markets, Sushant says, adding that work is on to reduce its price.

Among his other innovations are super sense technology, special vehicle security system, low cost security system, super chair, low cost voice operated electrical and electronics system.
