Hare spotted enjoying a cigarette break

May 12, 2017: The animal was spotted skipping through an airport coach park with what looked like a cigarette hanging out of its mouth.

 

The bizarre scene forced bus driver Michael Keating to double take – and he quickly managed to take some photos of the animal.

What made it even weirder is that at the time, Michael, 45, was on his own ciggy break, so it looked like the hare was joining him.

But in reality it was probably a bit of straw and not a roll-up, he said.

The dad-of-three from Ballymun, Ireland, said: ‘I was just on my break and stopped for a cigarette when I spotted some hares running around.

‘There are often quite a few around on the edge of the coach park but then I noticed one had come right over.

‘I noticed he had something hanging out of his mouth and my first thought was ‘is that a cigarette?’ so I quickly got my camera out.

‘As soon as people saw me spot it, a few other people came over and started watching him. There were so many people laughing at it. Everyone thought it was hilarious.

‘Everyone thought it looked just like a cigarette. It’s like he wanted to join in on the cigarette break – but I didn’t see any smoke coming out.

‘However in reality I reckon it might have just been a stick or bit of straw that he was eating as he had been eating something before ending up with that in his mouth. However it looked just like a cigarette.’
