Bus driver tries to shave minutes from journey but takes a dramatic turn for the worse

China, Oct 24, 2018: They say in life you should never take short-cuts. This was certainly the case for one bus driver in China.

She was in a rush and opted for a different route which included an underpass too low for the roof of the 47-seater vehicle.

Incredible footage taken moments after the collision shows dazed passengers walking from the wreckage of the bus with the roof sliced off.

Miraculously none of 27 passengers or the driver were killed, although two people were taken to hospital.

Video from inside the vehicle shows how close to death the passengers came with just inches to spare between head height and the underside of the road bridge above.

The crash in the city of Hohhot, China, is being investigated by police and the driver has yet to be named.
