Sonu Refused to Work with Kangana Because of ‘Unprofessionalism’

As soon as the news of Sonu Sood walking out of Manikarnika made headlines, Pinkvilla reported that Kangana Ranaut told them that he left because he wasn’t ready to shoot under a woman director and was not giving the team dates to reshoot portions for the film. Sonu told The Quint that he left the movie not because he has a problem with a female director but because of Ranaut’s "unprofessional" behavior.

"The gender of the director is not the issue. Competence is. Let’s not confuse the two. I’ve worked with Farah Khan (For Happy New Year) who is a competent woman director and Farah and I had a great professional equation and we are still best of friends. That’s all I would like to say."

Now that Sonu has exited the movie, according to reports Kangana has confirmed that they will be reshooting his portions with someone else.
