Punjab, Nov 01, 2015: Harbhajan Singh and Geeta Basra married on October 29th in Jalandhar, Punjab and a star-studded wedding reception was held on November 1st in New Delhi’s Taj Palace. The reception was attended by high profile celebrities from film, cricketing world and political personalities.

 

Prime Minister Narendra Modi despite hectic schedule turned up for Harbhajan Singh and Geeta Basra’s reception. The newly wedded seek Modi’s blessing by touching his feet and the honourable PM blessed them and hugged Bhajji. They posed for camera.

 

 

Former Prime Minister Manmohan Singh was also present at the reception. He hugged Harbhajan Singh and wished the newly wedded. Geeta looked stunning in a blue studded lehenga teamed with a spectacular diamond choker and side maang tika while Harbhajan wore a matching velvet sherwani.

 

 

 

Kapil Dev arrived with his wife Romi Bhatia. Anil Kumble spotted with his wife Chethana Ramatheertha. Ravi Shastri arrived dressed in a kurta and jawahar jacket. MS Dhoni, who had also attended the wedding in Jalandhar, came sans his wife Sakshi. Virender Sehwag also came solo.

India cricketer Harbhajan Singh and Bollywood actress Geeta Basra finally tied the knot on Wednesday in Jalandhar.

The 35-year-old off-spinner and Basra completed the wedding after a long relation. The couple chose traditional attires for the ceremony.

 

 

Sachin Tendulkar was also seen at the wedding in Jalandhar with Muskesh and Nita Ambani’s son Akash.

In a statement couple days of ago, Kochhar had said that Geeta’s wedding lehenga will be in traditional red-and-gold combination accessorised by a ‘nath’, a ‘matha patti’ and a ‘tikka’ with a beautiful head dupatta to complete the ensemble.

 

 

Harbhajan complemented the bride with a red and white outfit.

Earlier, a mehendi and sangeet ceremony was also held at Harbhajan’s Jalandhar home. For her mehendi Geeta Basra chose pastel colours. She wore a pink and yellow lehenga by Archana Kocchar for the mehendi and chose a dark green lehenga for sangeet.

The couple will host a reception in New Delhi on Sunday, November 1.

Apart from his Team India teammates like Yuvraj Singh and Virat Kohli, Bollywood celebrities like Amitabh Bachhan, Shah Rukh Khan and Priyanka Chopra are also likely to attend the reception in the capital.

Harbhajan, 35, and Geeta, who has acted in several Hindi and Punjabi films, have had a five years of courtship before they took the marital plunge.

Oct 28, 2015: Indian off-spinner Harbhajan Singh and Bollywood actress Geeta Basra’s wedding festivities started with mehendi ceremony on Monday. Photos of mehendi ceremony have already emerged on social media and now photos of sangeet ceremony have started doing the rounds.

Harbhajan Singh and Geeta Basra’s sangeet ceremony took place on Tuesday evening in Jalandhar. The cricketer took to Twitter to share an adorable photo of him with his soon-to-be wife.

"What a sangeet night!enjoyed it with family and friends!thank you @gurdasmaan nd @MikaSingh for making it special," Harbhajan tweeted with the photo.

Harbhajan looked dapper in pink kurta and white pajamas with a pink Nehru jacket, while the bride-to-be looked gorgeous in Archana Kochhar’s green lehenga.

Cricketers and singers attended the sangeet ceremony on Tuesday night. Singer Gurdas Mann, Punjabi actor Gurpreet Ghuggi, cricketer Parthiv Patel, cricketer R.P. Singh and cricketer Yuvraj Singh with his mother among others were in attendance.

 

 

 

Harbhajan and Geeta planned an elaborate Punjabi style wedding, which will take place near Jalandhar in Punjab on 29 October. The wedding reception will take place in Delhi on 1 November, which will see several Indian crickets and Bollywood celebrities.

Designer Archana Kochchar and Babita Malkani have designed Geeta’s wedding trousseau, while designer Raghavendra Rathore and his couture team are designing Harbhajan’s wedding outfit.
