Stretch marks are a perfectly normal aspect of a woman’s body, particularly if she’s had children.

But that doesn’t stop the trolls hating on them.

Mum-of-six, Sharny Kieser is the most recent victim of the stretch mark shamer having recently posted an image of her stomach online to the Instagram account she shares with her husband.

Despite looking fit, healthy and happy in the shot, she received a backlash from a keyboard warrier who told her she needed to “photoshop the disgusting stretch marks out.”

Thankfully her husband, Julius, had something to say about the matter, responding by sharing another picture of his wife alongside a touching tribute to her and her body, stretch marks and all.

“Last week, I posted a photo of Sharny with her tummy out and a young girl said, “at least photoshop the disgusting stretch marks out.” Here’s a new photo, where I’ve adjusted the light so you can see ONLY stretch marks,” he said with his post.

“Enjoy, because I do. I think they’re beautiful. I think they symbolise the strength of a mother who brought 6 children into the world. Not just this mother, but EVERY mother.”

Julius went on to say he believes a woman who has life experience and confidence in herself and her body is far more attractive than those who are insecure about “shallow” things like stretchmarks.

“I hope that when they DO earn their depth of character and maybe scars/stretch marks, they KNOW that they are not ugly or used, but beautiful and important and courageous,” he continued.

And fellow parents, who follow the couples’ account for fitness inspiration, were quick to praise Julius for his empowering message.

“I love what both you and Sharny stand for!” one user wrote. “Its [sic] refreshing to hear a man speak openly about the beauty of a woman’s body that is not “perfect”. I applaud both of you.”

“I love this! It’s important for all women to see the beauty and realness of what our bodies can do and what we sacrifice for the most amazing gifts of unconditional love,” another agreed.

“Beautifully said,” yet another user commented. I’m still working on my confidence when it comes to my stretchies. I definitely admire your confidence.”
