’Naked marriage’ gaining acceptance in China: Survey

Beijing, Nov 7: A survey in China has found that the concept of naked marriage, or marrying without a house and car, is gaining currency.The results of the survey by Touchmedia, a major in-taxi media company in China, were timed with Chinese Valentine’s Day (Aug 13) and polled 1.59 million taxi passengers in five cities, including Beijing, Shanghai and Guangzhou over the last month, China Daily reported.

 

It also found that when it comes to a "naked marriage", which means getting married without a house and car, 45 percent of those polled "approve of the idea". But less than 30 percent would "practise a naked marriage".

 

 

Over 70 percent of the interviewees said they were ready to share their mortgage payments with their spouse after marriage.
