Mangaluru, Nov 7, 2017: For this young lady, entrepreneurship is in her blood. Growing up in a family where both parents are entrepreneurs has been an added advantage to Vathika Pai, an outstanding young woman. Recently, when she was unanimously elected as the 53rd President of the Kanara Chamber of Commerce and Industry, the apex trade and industry body of the region, Vathika who is just 28 also became the youngest President in the history of the KCCI.
Daughter of C Upendra Kamath and Nirmala Kamath of the famed Nirmala Travels, Vathika now manages the firm started by her parents and is also the owner of Vathika International Travels which she herself established in the year 2007. A B.Com graduatefrom Mangalore University with a first rank and gold medal, Vathika also has a post graduate degree in Finance Management as well as an MBA degree from Manipal University.
Having served as the Secretary and Vice President of the Chamber earlier, now as the new Chief of KCCI, Vathika Pai has set her goals clear. She wants to simplify the GST regime for trading community and would also lay thrust on promotion of tourism, a field which is of special interest to her.
