Rammohan Pai Maroor Mangaluru, Sept 20, 2015: Youth is said to be wasted on the young. It is perhaps for this reason that RAMMOHAN PAI MAROOR has kept the flame of youth alive well past middle age. If you don’t believe it, challenge him to do a summersault – and he’ll do a perfect roll over on the ground even at the age of 52!

The new President of Kanara Chamber and Commerce & Industry is a multitalented person and a popular one too, thanks to his childlike nature. As a student of St Aloysius, he was an avid sportsman and represented the College in football, cricket, basketball, hockey and tennis. He is a gifted drama and mime artiste too, having been a cast member of ‘Ganti’, a Konkani play directed by Kasargod Chinna.

It was also sports that finally hooked Ram to marital bliss; his wife is Vandana (nee Shanbhag), the celebrated Arjuna Awardee athlete who represented India in the 1988 Olympics. Ram had proposed to her when they met during a mega sports event in the city. They are parents of Mythili, who is a talented nail artist and married to Ananth Prabhu.

A scion of Maroor family, Ram is a partner in Maroor Group which runs 10 firms dealing in auto spares, tyres, electrical products, machine tools and aluminum fabrication. A Rotarian and a Toastmaster, he has also served as the Secretary of Federation of Automobile Associations of Karnataka 2003-2005.
