Mangaluru, August 6, 2016: As Mangaluru City Corporation’s New Commissioner Mohammad Nazeer  makes his priorities very much clear - to  augment property tax collection, to plug loopholes in resource mobilisation and to give priority towards the implementation of the  proposed modern bus terminus at Pumpwell.

A civil engineer by qualification, Mohammad Nazeer has the experience  of earlier serving as the Commissioner of Mangaluru Urban Development Authority.

Mohammad Nazeer who did his engineering from the Malnad Engineering College in Hassan, later  underwent a  Masters  Course in Urban and Regional Planning from the  Institute of Development Studies Mysuru.

He began his  career as Assistant Director of Statistics  after being appointed through KPSC. Nazeer has also served as Regional Planning Officer of Chamarajanagar Zilla Panchayat, Executive Officer of Bantwal Taluk Panchayat, Project Appraisal & Evaluation Officer and  Chief Planning Officer of Dakshina Kannada, Zilla Panchayath.

Mangaluru hopes to see still better days  with better amenities, infrastructure, good roads and footpaths under the guidance and supervision of the new Commissioner who has a wealth of experience behind him.
